Aduana Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Inter Allies in the first match of the 2016 Ghana Premier League season at the Tema Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Ropapa Mensah and Isaac Twum were on target for the home side in the first half of the game.

Aduana Stars fought back in the second half but they could not find a goal.

Coach Nurudeen gave new signing Joseph Addo the nod in goal while Yahaya Mohammed was also handed his debut.

Inter Allies took the game to  the visitors in the opening minutes of the game whereas Aduana took the period to settle.

But Allies hit hard through Ropapa who reacted quickest to head a cross into the net.

The visitors rejigged their approach as they sought a way back into the game but having hemmed Allies back, they were hit again.

Isaac Twum inflected the damage to make Aduana's task of overhauling the first goal a mountainous problem by doubling the score just before halftime.

Aduana came out for the second half with the intention of grabbing an early goal to unsettle Allies, but the hosts were very solid in defense.

The Ogya boys tightened up at the back in the second half and prevented Allies from getting clear cut chances. But at the other end, they could not get a chance to breach the Allies defense.

Aduana fell for the third time against Inter Allies at Tema, but they will be hoping to make amends next weekend.
