Aduana Stars trashed visitors Techiman City 4 -0 on match day 28 of the 2016 Ghana Premier League to boost their title hopes alive.

Judging from the “Ogya Lads” swift play, the former Premier League champions went into the game with aim of getting the three points and they achieved that in grand style.

Yahaya Mohammed who is gunning for the goal-king opened the scoring for his side as he increased his goal tally to 15 goals in the 2016 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Before the break, Mohammed who was the dangerous player on the field failed to score his side’s second goal as he missed from the spot.

From the break, Aduana Stars piled pressure on the visitors and Daniel Darkwa scored the home side’s second goal with a sublime finish.

Bright Adjei then made it three for the home side before late in the game Derek Sassraku put the icing on the cake with Aduana’s fourth goal.

The win means that Aduana Stars are tied on 48 points with league leaders Wa All Stars and are on top of the Ghana Premier League table.

Former champions of the Ghana Premier League, Aduana Stars left it late to beat Liberty Professionals 3-2 in a thrilling encounter at the Carl Reindorf Park on Sunday.

Liberty scored first courtesy Latif Blessing’s 4th minute goal making it his 8th of the campaign but youngster Zakaria Mumuni pegged back with his debut goal for the Fire club in the 16th minute.

Three more goals ensued in the second half with Ebo Mends restoring the lead for the hosts, Liberty professional but Yahaya Mohammed however cancelled the lead again with his 7th goal of the season so far after a foiled Liberty attack in which Latif Blessing conceded possession.

Aduana grew in confidence after the Yahaya leveller and went ahead just on added time as substitute Derrick Sasraku rose high to head home the third goal for the Dormaa lads.

Aduana now move to 4th position – same points, 16, as Liberty but the latter lie 5th by virtue of their less goal difference.

Aduana Stars continued from where they left off in midweek by recording a resounding 3-0 victory over Medeama in the Ghana premier league on Sunday.

Yahaya Mohammed two goals in each half plus Elvis Opoku's late strike ensured Aduana made light work of Medeama at the Nana Agyemang-Badu park.

Medeama yet again failed to replicate their impressive CAF confederation cup form as they appeared out of sorts, kowtowing to fifth defeat of the season.

Yahaya Mohammed drew first blood in the 35th minute. The former kotoko attacker collected a good cross from Zakaria Mumuni and powered home a neat strike to end the first half in favour of host.

Fifteen minutes after the break, Yahaya Mohammed doubled Aduana's lead to increase his tally for the campaign to six, barely one behind Latif Blessing of Liberty professionals.

2014 MTN FA Cup top scorer Elvis Opoku converted the third goal with couple of minutes to end proceedings.

Marksman Yahaya Mohammed returned to his goalscoring form in style as he scored a hat trick for Aduana Stars against Sekondi Hasaacas on Wednesday. 

The 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League match day 8 encounter saw the Fire club wallop Hasaacas by a 4-0 scoreline at the Agyeman Badu I park.

Yahaya, who last scored on match day 6 against former club Kotoko but missed the ensuing defeat to Berekum Chelsea, scored opener the goal fest as early as the fifth minute.

Hasaacas, led by Samuel Afful tried all they could for an equalizer but Aduana had other plans as all their incursions were thwarted. The first half ended 1-0.

Back from recess, Yahaya scored his personal second to peg the scores at two zero. He soon completed his hat trick for the day after capitalizing on a defensive blunder by the visitors, to be the second player to score three goals in game after Samuel Tetteh of WAFA.

Striker Bright Adjei converted from the spot kick to complete the 4-0 thrashing.

Berekum Chelsea nicked a narrow 1-0 win over regional rivals Aduana Stars at the Golden City Park in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Striker Asiwome Fumador struck the only goal of the game midway through the second-half to claim victory for Solomon Ojo's side.

This was a game Aduana had to play without influential duo Godfred Saka and Yahaya Mohammed

Yahaya conspicuously missed out of Cioaba Aristica's side due to sickness.

The opening halve ended in a stalemate but the second-half proved difficult for Aduana as they were forced to effect two changes in their goalkeeping department.

Stephen Adams could not continue after the interval due to injury, leaving assistant goalkeeper Celestine Damptey the only option to replace him.

But Aristica was thrown into some real dilemma when Damptey also suffered an injury and had to be replaced by Wahab Adams - an outfit player.

Aduana pressed to get the equaliser but never got it.

 

Asante Kotoko suffered yet another disappointing defeat in the Ghana premier league at the hands of Aduana stars on Sunday at the Agyeman Badu I park in Dormaa Ahenkro.

Former Asante Kotoko striker Yahaya Mohammed delivered on his promise as he struck the winner to condemn the porcupines to their third defeat of the season.

Aduana captain Godfred Saka could not recover in time to feature but the fire club did not appear to have missed his services in the game as they fought hard to secure their second win of the season.

The first half was fairly balance as both teams failed to utilize the rare goal scoring opportunities that came their way.

Aduana dominated the first 15 minutes but the Porcupines quickly regrouped and took control of the game from the 25th minute mark to the end with Bennett Ofori missing a sitter.

The fire club just like in the first half began the second strongly. They bombarded Kotoko with constant attacks and were rewarded in the 55th minute.

CNN goal of the week winner weaved his way through Kotoko defence before setting up Yahaya Mohammed who smashed home from close range to preserve Aduana's unbeaten record at home against Kotoko.

Aduana took their foot slightly off the peddle after scoring yet Kotoko could not fetch the equaliser.

They huffed and puffed but could not break the house of Aduana stars with the likes of Stephen Adams and  Emmanuel Akuoku remaining resolute in defence.

As the tradition continued. Kotoko have now failed to score a goal at the Dormaa park in seven attempts.

Under-fire Coach David Duncan kept faith in Ernest Sowah in spite of Ofori Antwi's heroics in last week FA cup against AK Shion.

And the experience goalkeeper pulled off a top class save to deny Aduana a first half lead. However, a couple of minutes after recess he picked a knock and was replaced by Eric Ofori Antwi.

Aduana will travel to Berekum to take on Chelsea on Match Day 7.
